The Elk Grove Futsal Club (EGFC) is part of the United States Futsal Federation (USFF) and the California Futsal Association North (CFAN).
Futsal is the official five-a-side indoor soccer game and the only indoor soccer recognized by FIFA. Futsal is beginning to take the country by storm as more and more soccer players, coaches, clubs and associations discover the unique and positive qualities of Futsal. It is a game played around the world as many of today's world stars began their youth soccer by playing Futsal. The Brazilians attribute their world soccer success to Futsal. Pele, Zico, Socrates, Ronaldo and Bebeto grew up playing Futsal and credit Futsal with developing their skills.
We are now accepting team applications for the Elk Grove Futsal Club's winter futsal league for U-10, U-12 and U-14 boys and girls. The games will be played during week nights (Monday through Thursday) from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The location for the games is the Dr. Robert Porter Center located at 2801 Meadowview Road, Sacramento, CA 95832. Please click on the map link for directions and a map to the facility.
The Elk Grove Futsal Club's youth league is being operated as a non-profit enterprise, and only the cost of running the league is being passed on to the teams. The team fees for the 2008 season are $550.00 for 8 games. Futsal is a 5 a side game (the goal keeper and 4 field players). Thus, for a team with 8 to 9 players on its roster, the fees will be approximately $60.00 per player. There is also a one time per year $9.00 per player fee charged by the U.S. Futsal Federal for player passes and a $12.00 charge for coaches. Players and coaches are required to register their teams on line with the U.S. Futsal Federation and will then pay the registration fees to the Elk Grove Futsal Club.
